A reader and fanboy since he had to sneak comics into the house when he was seven, Roger remembers the heartbreak of the day when the price of comics went up from 12c to 15c. He currently serves as president of Prism Comics.
In the 1970s he did freelance production and editorial work for Marvel and DC, frequently under the direction of the late Duffy Vohland, and was also a member of the leading amateur press associations (APAs) CAPA-ALPHA and INTERLAC.
In the late 1980s, he co-founded ATDNSIN with Andy Mangels, as well as serving as publisher of the one-shot publication Comicopia, edited by Matt Lehman of the Boston-area shop of the same name. He was also co-producer of the documentary film The Cockettes.
In his day job, Roger has held a number of marketing and technical positions in the computer systems and software industry. In 1991 he founded the online community QueerNet, has managed it ever since, and serves on the board of its parent organization, Online Policy Group as Director of Hosting Services. He also serves on the board of D-GALA (Dartmouth Gay and Lesbian Alumni/ae) .
He lives with his partner, David Haney, and his two cats (one elegant, one klutzy) and two dogs (one moody, one cheerful) in Seattle.
(Luckily, only the creators involved recall that, in junior high school, he co-created The Temperature Twins with Allan Neuwirth. Oops, that slipped out.)
