Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in 1952, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1992 as sort of a "mid-life crisis" rite of passage. A comics reader from the age of four, my happiest childhood times involved fantasies of Superman and Batman (and still do, though not quite in the same way).
Starting in 2000, I began to do comics-related photo-manips, parody rewrites of Silver Age covers and stories, and other attempts at comics humor under the names "Mr. Cellophane" and "Mr. C." Most of these were posted on the GLAFiles2 Yahoo group, owned and moderated by Prism's own Mike Standish. When the Queer Eye on Comics team was being put together in 2003, Mike suggested my name to editor David Stanley as a possible member of the gang. Since then, I've been coming up with a (hopefully) humorous gay take on an old comic every eight weeks as a member of the Queer Eye on Comics Review Crew.
