PRISM COMICS RETURNS TO COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL: SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON

Prism Comics – America’s longest-standing non-profit organization serving the needs of LGBTQAIU comics, comics creators, and fandom – will once again be “Queer Comics Central” at Comic-Con International: San Diego. With a triple-sized booth in Hall C – Booth 2144 – Prism Comics will also be offering for sale a selection of some of the most important and talked about comics by LGBTQAIU creators of recent years as well as perennial queer comics classics, T-shirts, tote bags, mugs and more.
Joining Prism as partners at their booth will be award-winning publisher Charles “Zan” Christensen, owner of Northwest Press; Jeff Krell, creator of Jayson, Tony Breed, the cartoonist behind Hitched, and author Kyle Styron. A wide range of LGBTQAIU creators and media folk will be appearing for signings throughout the Con including Joe Glass, Justin Hall, Phil Jimenez, Ajuan Mance, Andy Mangels, Lee Marrs, Christie Marston, Jase Peeples, David Reddish, Steve Orlando, Molly Osterag, Kathryn S. Renta, Sonya Saturday, Michael Varrati, Tillie Walden and more.
As in previous years, Prism Comics will be offering a wide variety of panels devoted to LGBTQAIU representation in popular culture including the 30th Anniversary of the “Gays in Comics” panel – the longest running panel in San Diego Comic-Con history – moderated by creator Andy Mangels. This anniversary speaks to Comic-Con International’s long-standing championing of diversity in comics and popular media.

Once again this year, Prism Comics will be hosting the Hot Comics Drink and Draw at Pecs, Thursday July 20th from 9:00 PM to midnight. Pecs Bar is located at 2046 University Ave,, San Diego, CA 92104.
And Prism will be hosting a live San Diego Comic-Con edition of the BiCast, a podcast hosted by BiNet USA president Lynnette McFadzen on Friday July 21st at noon. Portfolio reviews by industry professionals, including Justin Hall, editor of No Straight Lines, will be offered at the booth as well.
