Prism Comics Debuts At Planet Comicon!
Update: Here’s the powerpoint that showcases the projects by the creators featured on this panel.
PRISM COMICS, America’s leading non-profit organization supporting LGBTQ comics, comics creators, and readers, will be exhibiting for the first time ever at PLANET COMICON, the Kansas City area’s premier comics and pop culture convention on March 13th through 15th.
The latest in popular queer-themed comics and other merchandise will be offered at Prism’s table in Artist Alley with proceeds going to support the 2015 PRISM COMICS QUEER PRESS GRANT, a financial grant awarded each year to an aspiring LGBT creator to help them publish their work.
Prism will also present a panel discussion “IT’S A QUEER, QUEER WORLD!” on March 14th at 12:30 PM in room 2504. The panel will explore what’s new and cutting edge in LGBTQ comics and graphic novels. Panelists will include Christianne Benedict (Womanthology, Exiles), P. Kristen Enos (Web of Lives, Deseo), Hanna Oliver (KC-based illustrator and cartoonist), and Archie Comics’ Dan Parent (Kevin Keller), Mike Sullivan (There’s Something Happening in Crawford, Kansas, Infinity Five), Kelsey Wroten (Grave, Jukebox Comics) and moderator Tara Madison Avery (Gooch, Anything That Loves, Prism Comics Board Member).
Tickets to the convention can be purchased at www.planetcomicon.com.
