PRISM COMICS AT NEW YORK COMIC CON 2015
Prism Comics is joining with Northwest Press and SkinTight USA to exhibit at New York Comic Con – Thursday, October 8 through Sunday, October 11 – Booth #1483. Northwest Press will offer a wide selection of LGBTQ books and comics including many award-winning anthologies and graphic novels. Prism will be presenting a number of LGBTQ creators signing their works plus “Homo Superior” mugs and tote bags which benefit the Prism Comics Queer Press Grant. SkinTIghtUSA will be promoting diversity and positive image in cosplay and its SkinTightUSA events.
Creators and cosplayers appearing at the booth include: Tara Madison Avery (Gooch, Anything That Loves), Morgan Boecher (What’s Normal Anyway?), Abby Denson (Tough Love, Dolltopia), Kristen Enos (Web of Lives), Greg Fox (Kyle’s Bed and Breakfast), Joe Glass (The Pride), Sina Grace (L’il Depressed Boy, Self-Obsessed), Jay Justice (cosplayer), Jeff Krell (Jayson Comics), L. Nichols (Flocks), Tony Ray (cosplayer) and others.*

The autobiography genre has been a staple of indie comics for decades. Some of the best examples of the form are the work of LGBT creators who have used this platform to share stories about their often misunderstood subcultures. Join Prism Comics and Moderator Tara Madison Avery (Gooch) and Panelists Morgan Boecher (What’s Normal Anyway?), Sina Grace (Self-Obsessed), L. Nichols (Flocks), Carlo Quispe (Uranus), AK Summers (Pregnant Butch) and Ariel Schrag (Likewise) for a lively discussion about comics that are true to queer life!

SECRET IDENTITIES – CREATING TRANSGENDER CHARACTERS IN COMIC BOOKS

What’s the “Right” way to create a transgender character? What kind of stories make the best use of transgender characters, what representation appeals to transgender readers and what unique contributions can Transgender Creators make to the industry? Join panelists Charles Battersby, Jennie Wood, Marguerite Bennett, Morgan Boecher, P. Kristen Enos and Tara Madison Avery as they discuss how Trans characters can be best portrayed in comics and geek media.

SkinTight will be sponsoring the LGBTQ PASSPORT to New York Comic Con with Prism and Northwest Press with listings of panels, events, booths, creators of LGBTQ interest. And we’ll make a PDF available for you to download before the Con.
