Hot Pink for Logo Flame Con 2021, August 21st - 22nd

Flame Con has always aimed to be an inclusive space for all, and this year is no exception. Acknowledging the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 impact on communities – especially the most marginalized amongst us – this summer’s event will take place online, with in-person programming returning in 2022.

In the spirit of accessibility, Geeks OUT is also providing captioning services and screen reader options for low-vision and hard of hearing fans (for more information on compatible technology, go here).

Flame Con 2021 Virtual Table

Flame Con 2021 is free for everyone to attend. Special ticket levels are also available for donations of $10, $20, $45, $60, and $100. Come visit Prism Comics and all the other comics creators, artists, and gaymers in this celebration of queer comics and art at Flame Con 2021!

Prism Comics Presents: The History of Black Queer Characters in Horror

Prism Comics is also presenting a live panel “Prism Comics Presents: The History of Black Queer Characters in Horror” on Saturday, August 21st, 12:30 to pm 1:30 pm Pacific Time / 3:30 to 4:30 pm Eastern Time.

"Prism Comics Presents: The History of Black Queer Characters in Horror"

Black queer characters have played prominent roles in the Horror genre. We want to explore the complex, influential, and at times, frustrating history of Black queer characters, by highlighting their appearances in films, novels, and comics. We will examine the hidden messages and problematic themes besetting these characters, but celebrate their impact to the fans of the Horror genre.

Join Prism Comics, moderator Viktor Kerney (StrangeLore, MEGASheen Podcast, Prism Comics), and panelists Brother Ghoulish/Ryan W. Kinney (Brother Ghoulish’s Tomb Podcast), Bobby Torrez (“Bobby Likes It Spooky”), and Mark O. Estes (Midnight Social Distortion, Old-School Blerd), as they explore the horror genre from a Black queer perspective.

Prism Comics would like to send many thanks to our panelists and the folks at Geeks OUT and Flame Con 2021!
