This year’s recipient of the Prism Comics Queer Press Grant is Dave Davenport. Dave, who is developing his graphic novel Stray Bullet, recounts the adventures of Feral and the Ghost Skater, a werewolf and a spectral skate punk who have strange adventures in the queerer regions of the supernatural.
Hazel Newlevant is a cartoonist who grew up in Portland, Oregon and attended the School of Visual Arts.
She’s the creator and publisher of many comics, including the Xeric Award-winning CiVediamo. She has worked for Top Shelf and Dark Horse Comics, and is the co-lead editor of the digital comics magazine INK.

Prism Comics will be exhibiting, presenting panels and announcing the recipient of the 2015 Prism Comics Queer Press Grant at WonderCon Anaheim.
Prism Comics, the leading non-profit organization supporting LGBTQ comics, comics creators and readers, is once again exhibiting at WonderCon Anaheim, Friday, April 3 through Sunday, April 5. “WonderCon and Comic-Con International are very welcoming of diversity.” said Ted Abenheim, President of Prism Comics. “And we’re excited to once again be exhibiting at WonderCon Anaheim to celebrate LGBTQ comics, popular media, geek culture and cosplay.”
Prism Comics, will be exhibiting for the first time ever at PLANET COMICON, the Kansas City area’s premier comics and pop culture convention on March 13th through 15th.
Prism will also present a panel discussion “IT’S A QUEER, QUEER WORLD!” on March 14th at 12:30 PM in room 2504.
